My lips take a lot of abuse from liquid lipstick, so they need all the love they can get. My brother has my mom’s plump lips, and unfortunately they crack often. We use a variety of products to help us, none of which are outrageously expensive and some can be affordable even for those on a tight budget.
Neither of us regularly apply lip balm throughout the day. I have used my eos balm before I go to bed, but I don’t feel like it does much. All of the treatment is done at night. Keep in mind that we live in the Southern California climate and everyone’s body reacts to products differently, so experiences may vary.
Blistex lip ointment is a remedy all of my family swears by. I like to use it before applying liquid lipstick because it feels good and moisturizes them a little.
Bag Balm is wonderful. It has multiple uses and definitely repairs my lips overnight. A little goes a long way- seriously. I get a small coat of product on my pinky and smear it over my lips to make a nice coat. I don’t know if this product is safe for the lips, but i haven’t found warnings against it. The original use was to moisturize the chapped teets of cows, so I figure that if calves consume it, it shouldn’t be terrible for me. If you can’t get this product or don’t feel comfortable using it, then look for something similar; this is known as an emollient.
