Here’s a list of affordable makeup that I hope can help anybody on a budget. I especially dedicate this to trans women who probably do not know where to start with makeup. The idea of this post is not cheap dupes to get until you can afford the better, higher end product. These are products that I would probably still buy even if I had the money to pay for the higher end equivalent.
Eye Primer: Wet N Wild Fergie Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer/Photofocus Eyeshadow Primer (Target: $4.69)
This product is actually discontinued, but I’ve heard rumors that the current Wet N Wild Photofocus primer in the white tube is the same formula. This product is reliable. My eyeshadow will last all day with this on. It applies slightly drier than Urban Decay Primer Potion, but the difference is minuscule to me. Only problem that might occur is that it leaves a sharp pigmentation between the unprimed skin and primed skin, but this is easily fixed with a little blending. Barely noticeable anyway.
Colorful Eyeshadow: BH Cosmetics 120 Colors Palette (BH Cosmetics Website: $18)
You can find the review I wrote a couple years ago here. I love having a variety of colors and finishes with this palette, and it’s a good buy and starter for anyone who wants an arsenal of eyeshadow. Shades are hit or miss, but there’s more hits to justify the purchase than misses. I have not used this for a neutral eye look, but I don’t think it could deliver the same quality as my Naked Palette.
Blending Brush: Elf Crease Eye Brush (Elf Website: $3)
This kind of brush is a must have to blend all my eye looks. I think it’s great to have 2 of these. They are high quality (no loose bristles), and they definitely get the job done.
